Sophie Foster, LMFTA (she/her)
“Human connection is important and essential. We all crave and desire it. Strong relationships are valuable.”
Whether you’re experiencing relationship conflict, anxiety, or the lingering impacts of trauma, I will come alongside you and we will collaborate to identify where the pain originated, and ways that you can make changes to feel more connected, grounded, confident, and energized. We will work together to find an alternate, more functional way of thinking so together we can make changes in your life to bring you closer to what you value. You’re the expert of your life and no two people’s journeys are the same. I may not have all the answers and solutions, but I am here to best support you in the ways you are seeking.
My approach to therapy
I work best with adults, young couples, and families who are open and willing to put in the hard work to experience real change, growth, and healing in their lives. This will include humor, curiosity, sass, genuineness. My authentic therapeutic style suits those who are looking for a more collaborative and conversational experience in session. I offer both in person and virtual sessions.
My work is informed by an anti-oppression, LGBTQIA2+ -affirming, and sex-positive lens. I use multiple therapy modalities, including: CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-focused CBT), Internal Family Systems therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Gottman Couples Therapy.
