Seattle postpartum therapist

rebeka ramsay, LMHCA (she/her)

Maybe your life has recently changed, and you are going through a big transition. You might be feeling a bit lost and worried about how things will be from now on. You might be unsure about who you are. I have been there. The stresses of moving to a new place, changing careers, or becoming a parent, we can talk about it all.

The process of starting therapy can be intimidating, and vulnerability isn’t easy but you are not alone.  I understand that, and aim to make the challenging process as inviting and connecting as possible. In the counseling room, we will talk about what has happened to you, where you are coming from, and what you hope to get out of this journey. I am committed to fostering a brave environment where we can work on your goals together. I believe that my role as a counselor is to be there for and with you, supporting you towards empowerment to move through life, its challenges, and wonders.

My approach to therapy

I work with adult individuals virtually and in person. My collaborative therapeutic style is rooted in multicultural feminism and attachment exploration. I see the challenges of life as beyond the individual level, but part of a systemic web. I also use elements of CBT, IFS, and narrative therapy to support our work. Together, we will talk and reflect on your experience as a member of our society and your relationship with the surrounding community.

I am aware of my privileges as a cisgender, white-passing, able-bodied woman and understand that the decolonizing of my clinical practice and perspective while living in a white supremacist society has to be constant. It is a lifelong commitment that I am passionate about and open to sharing. I am an advocate and member of the LGBTQIA+ community and hold a “health at every size,” body and sex/queer/kink positive and affirming position.
