Graduate Student Interns

Riverbank Therapy is a practice that believes in investing in the growth and development of the counselors of the future. We host several interns throughout the year, typically for 9-12 months at a time.

Working with an intern has several benefits:

  • reduced cost

  • flexible schedules, often including evenings and weekends

  • comprehensive supported therapy (our interns get 1 hour of individual supervision with one of our licensed therapists per week, plus 1-3 hours of group supervision per week)

  • growing in your own life, while also supporting the growth of new counselors

In therapy together, we will navigate through different life changes, explore your relationships, and develop a strong sense of who you are. I will support you in being true to your authentic self, building confidence, and feeling empowered to advocate for what you need.

My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), humanistic therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and cross-cultural therapy. I will work to understand your story, where you come from, and how your background and identities impact your experience in life. I tend to have a strong emphasis on problem-solving, emotional regulation, and role-playing to help you build viable tools to use when real-life challenges arise.

I am particularly passionate about supporting teens, adults, and minority families who struggle with imposter syndrome, body image, social anxiety, perfectionism, and ethical and non-ethical non-monogamy.

l am currently completing my final year of a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) at Bellevue University (expected graduation August 2026).

This means that I have a deep respect for your lived experience and a commitment to honoring your voice. We’ll work together to understand what healing looks like for you. I’ll pay close attention to how power, identity, and systemic forces might shape our dynamic in counseling, and I’ll invite open conversations about safety, trust, and consent in our work together. You can expect transparency, collaboration, and a steady commitment to co-creating a space where you feel seen, affirmed, and free to show up as your whole self.

I work with individuals of all backgrounds, with particular care for those living with chronic illness and pain, neurodivergence, or who come from communities historically excluded from care. I don’t believe healing is about fixing what’s broken, it’s about honoring what’s true and building toward what’s possible.  I look forward to working with you.

MacPherson Worobec (she/they)

You might be longing for a space where you don’t have to explain everything, where your lived experience is met with warmth, respect, and real listening. Whether you're navigating pain, identity, overwhelm, or simply wanting to feel more like yourself, I offer a grounded, compassionate presence. My counseling style invites you to slow down, listen inwardly, and gently reconnect with your own wisdom.

With a background in yoga therapy, acupuncture, and body-based modalities, I bring a deeply somatic and trauma-informed lens to this work. I also incorporate motion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (parts work), Relational-Cultural Theory and critical intersectionality, as well as Narrative Therapy and expressive arts. My practice is shaped by liberatory values and an understanding of how systemic oppression, chronic stress, and marginalization impact both body and psyche.
