Maggie Wilson, LMHCA, NCC (she/her)

I’m so glad you’re here! Seeking help and healing can be both liberating and challenging, and I am here to hold space for you and provide compassionate, non-judgmental support. Together, we will be real people, working collaboratively towards your goals - whether that is to explore your identity, increase your self-trust, make peace with your body and food, heal past trauma, or release perfectionism.

Perhaps you find yourself stuck in patterns that are no longer serving you, such as isolating, people pleasing, overworking, or controlling food. I believe that every behavior is an adaptive attempt to help you cope, including those that you may wish to change. Together, we will honor the positive intentions behind these behaviors while creating new patterns that align with your core values.

My approach to therapy

I work in person and virtually with adults and adolescents (16+). My approach to counseling is gentle yet direct, relational, and strengths-based. I work best with people who are open to exploring their internal experiences and understand that healing is not a linear process. During our time, we may consider how your current experiences are linked to family dynamics and early life events. I may gently help you notice and learn from the wisdom of your body and emotions. We will go at your pace, using curiosity and humor.

As an anti-oppressive and trauma-focused counselor, I adjust my approach to fit your needs and explore the influence of systemic factors in your life. My work is informed by a Health at Every Size (HAES®) and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming lens and is rooted in attachment theory and liberation psychology.

Other modalities I pull from include:

  • Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT)
