Briellen Crowley, LICSWA (she/her)
We may not always have the power to control all of the variables in our lives, but we can decide how we write them in our story. I believe each person has a story that is important and deserves space to be heard.
Asking for help can be vulnerable and undoubtedly nerve wracking. Whether this is your first time seeking out therapy or you’re giving therapy another try, investing in therapy is a huge step toward understanding yourself and putting yourself back in the driver’s seat of your life. Seeing first hand how transformative therapy can be makes me passionate and excited about this work. I aim to balance warmth and challenge to help you create meaningful change that extends beyond the therapy hour and into your everyday life.
In therapy we will customize our approach to help you meet your needs. I strive to empower my clients to grow in ways that align with their goals, values, and authentic selves. We might explore ways to interact differently with your thoughts and emotions, to practice self-compassion, and to move towards self-acceptance. Whether you need support motivating yourself along the healing path, improving effectiveness in relationships, moving forward from lasting effects of trauma, or relieving physical symptoms of distress, each of us are worthy of receiving help and experiencing a life worth living.
My approach to therapy
I work individually with adults both in person and virtually. I pull from several modalities including: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My therapeutic style is best suited for individuals that understand that the therapeutic process happens both in session and between sessions. My training in social work means that I consistently incorporate a systems viewpoint in therapy, which reflects my personal values of social justice and inclusion . I do not presume to have firsthand knowledge of your experience, so I strive to meet you where you are with humility and grace.
