Kathryn Stewart, LMHCA (she/her)
The longest and deepest relationship you will have in your life is your relationship with yourself. In therapy with me, we create a space of safety, warmth and trust in which this relationship can be explored and strengthened. This process can also help clarify your needs and boundaries when it comes to the relationships in your life. We’ll explore questions such as: How are you speaking to yourself? What parts of you are being ignored or rejected? What messages or memories may be stored in your body and what grounding tools are needed to be present and listen to them? Healing is a journey, a nonlinear and lifelong process through which we continue to evolve, change and grow. I'm honored to be a part of your journey.
My approach to therapy
I work with individuals and couples, both in person and virtually. I feel strongly about working with individuals across diverse racial, ethnic, sexual, and gender identities as well as folx from different socioeconomic backgrounds and ability levels. I draw heavily from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic therapy, and attachment theory in my therapy work, as well as drawing from Gottman and family systems when working with couples. My goal is to use somatics to help you build intuition and trust in your body, and parts work to create an inner-spaciousness by understanding how the different parts of you function to create your beliefs, thoughts and feelings. I also work with intersectional feminist therapy, a strengths-based therapeutic lens that acknowledges that the political and the personal are intertwined.
